<nettime> Open Letter to Transmediale via Artleaks |
Hello nettimers, There's suddenly alot of unusual threads popping up here on the list. Hope this won't get lost in the incoming flow.. There's 3 more days before the Transmediale call for a curatorial position - but not an artistic director position - closes on Feb 16. Discovered this well-considered Open Letter to the Transmediale advisory board, just two days ago via a review article ( linked below ) of TM + CTM25: Open letter to: transmediale e.V. (Filippo Gianetta & Magdalena Ritter) and the advisory board: Nora Al-Badri, Asia Bazdyrieva, Gabriele Horn, and Jussi Parikka. Why is transmediale not hiring a new artistic director? We care about and love transmediale as one of the most important critical and experimental media art institutions in Germany and Europe which reaches out to the public of Berlin and an international audience once a year. The festival is deeply rooted in the city’s fabric of the media art community with its many project spaces for almost 40 years. Therefore, we are concerned about the recent changes in the governing structure of the festival. to read in full ... and to become a signatory.... https://art-leaks.org/2025/02/04/open-letter-why-is-transmediale-not-hiring-a-new-artistic-director/ ... A little surprised that this isnt being discussed or shared anywhere... that we've seen... and not even on NETTIME ! ;) greetings + discontent + resistance ! XLterrestrials p.s. The open letter at Artleaks was linked in this TM+CTM review from REINCANTAMENTO and Alessandro Y. Longo on Substack... with some interesting perspectives... Drop #27.
