Hmmm, Felix Stadler says somewhere back in a thread "AI is here to stay"...

Franz Schäfer (Mond) says, " I think it is really necessary to also point out that we can have the upsides of AI and that they can be really good. "

Both reasonable thinkers with very good skills to formulate convincing - even seductive - arguments, especially when 1. your livelihood is in technology, 2. you may have very comfortable positions in the EU and 3. you write mostly for a particular community that enjoys and thrives on the debates around technopolitics, netzpolitik, digital culture, etc.

Don't get us wrong, we like to read your work and learn from it...
and we are trying to understand the issues at stake... and see how various positioned people perceive the dilemmas ... and we try to imagine how best to navigate the polycrisis dumpster fires asap !

But the XLterrestrials think it might be a good time for all of us to read more Global South WRITERS ...and what they think - and how they FEEL about Big Tech ...

Here's the latest from a language ninja and humanitarian warrior, Arundahti Roy, weighing in on AI  :

There so many ingenious lines of caring and resistance in this text, and we'll have to let you all go digging for more beautiful crystalizations for yourselves...

But here's one that resonates deeply with us, as writers, artists, activists, planetary beings... watching our livelihhoods and meaning being rapidly suffocated and disappeared:
